Get down to Pearse Street Library today for a unique evening of poetry and science, as Iggy McGovern will be reading from his latest poetry collection, A Mystic Dream of 4.

In this, his third collection, the poet and retired Professor of Physics has been inspired by the life of 19th century mathematician William Rowan Hamilton (1805-1865), who was a friend of William Wordsworth’s and who also wrote his poetry of his own. The 64 poems in A Mystic Dream of 4 tell the story of his life and times in sonnet form, mainly through the voices of his his relatives, friends and colleagues.

This free event will be a unique opportunity for poetry lovers to discuss the nature of the poetry of science and numbers. The readings will be performed by McGovern and three others, and will begin at 6pm. Light refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.
