There will be lots of free family fun in Merrion Square this Sunday (July 5) from 2 to 5pm, as the National Play Day celebrates its 10th year!

This year’s event aims to encourage children to play out in nature with the theme “Play Naturally”.

As this is the National Play Day’s 10th anniversary, there are exciting new addition to the usual line up, including Creativity Corner, where artists from the Recreate resource centre will be showing what can be done with recycled materials, a Smallest Kite in the world workshop, and the opportunity to see Merrion Square Park in a whole new light with Parkour!

Hosted by Dublin City Council with the support of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, the National Play Day is a part of the Dublin City Play Plan, which is aimed at anyone aged 18 and under. It recognises the importance of play time in children’s overall development.

You get more information and find out how to organise your own play day in the Dublin City Development Board’s Play Plan: Play Here, Play There, Play Everywhere.
