There are some great events lined up in Pembroke Cricket Club this August!

This weekend will see the club hold a Comedy & Cocktails Night, featuring 2014 Funny Women Award finalist Áine Gallagher amongst others.

Individual tickets cost €15, with four going for €50. The doors open at 7.30pm on Saturday (August 1), with the show kicking off at 8.30pm.

Later in the month will see Pembroke CC attempt to break the official Guinness World Record for the most people using a standard issues cricket bat and ball to do keepy-uppies at the same time!

The world record attempt will be taking place in Pembroke Cricket Club on Park Avenue in Sandymount at 4pm on Saturday, August 22. Everyone is welcome to take part, and the Pembroke CC is asking anyone with spare cricket bats or balls to donate them just for the day, by dropping them in to the club on or before the day.

You must register beforehand if you want to get involved! Registration costs €20 for an adult and €15 for under 16s, and includes a participant’s t-shirt and food pass.

Any queries about the world record attempt can be directed to the club from their website.

You can keep up-to-date with the club on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
