Barnardos are looking for volunteers to shake a bucket in aid of the children’s charity on Friday, September 18.
Barnardos’ Fundraising Manager, Mary Gamble explains that many children are in dire need of support: “Right now in Ireland, 138,000 children are living in consistent poverty. That’s at least three children in every classroom across the country who don’t have access to simple things like a warm home, a waterproof coat for winter or regular nutritious meals.
“This cannot continue. Barnardos is there to support these children, but we need your help. You can change a child’s life by volunteering to take part in Barnardos’ national collection day on Friday 18 September in locations throughout Dublin.”
The charity hope to recruit 1,000 volunteers for the day throughout Ireland, with 53 collection points around Dublin alone!
