Ballsbridge ICA was formed in 2006 and has been going strong since. The 10th Birthday was celebrated with lunch in Rolys and a party with birthday cake in the Iris Charles Centre, Sandymount, where the guild meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month from September to June.

During July and August the members meet in one of the Sandymount cafés for coffee and a chat and make arrangements for various outings which have included visits to Avondale House, Wicklow; Lissadell House, Sligo; St. Mel’s Cathedral, Longford; Wicklow Gaol; Casino in Marino; Exhibition of Sculpture in Botanic Garden and the Freemasons Hall, Molesworth St.

The guild recently hosted a Convenor Meeting for six guilds in their group. The Guest Speaker for the evening was local man Rodney Devitt, who entertained the visitors with ‘From Joyce to Jocosity’.

The guild has entered crafts in various Arts and Crafts competitions in other guilds and have been prize winners many times. It has also competed in the Co.

Federation table quiz and Pitch and Putt competition in Portmarnock.

There is something for everyone in the ICA. New members are always welcome.
