FoodMicro 2016 begins today

FoodMicro begins its 2016 festivities today at University College Dublin, the first time the conference has been held in Ireland.


Running until Friday 22nd, this event will be attended by over 1000 food biologists and other experts from the food industry.

The theme of this year’s event is “Our Health meets Food Microbiology”, with a wide variety of topics being discussed in areas such as food microbiology, food safety, food hygiene and food biotechnology. There will also be a discussion of the application of molecular approaches in all aspects of modern food microbiology and both local and international levels.

Speakers at the event will include Dr. Nathan Anderson (Research Agricultural Engineer of FDA CFSAN), Professor Johanna Björkroth (Scientific Editor of Applied and Environmental Microbiology), Dr. Robert Buchanan (Director and Professor of the Center for Food Safety and Security Systems College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Maryland) and Professor Lee-Ann Jaykus (William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor, North Carolina State University).
