The Cinema Corner – November 18th
The novels of Philip Roth haven’t translated well to cinema, but this week sees the release of a rare successful Roth adaptation. Indignation is the story of a young atheist from a Jewish background (Logan Lerman) struggling to get by at a conservative college in the 1950s. It’s beautifully acted and never lets its quiet anger surface as overbearing melodrama.
