Alternative Festival comes to Ringsend

Chanting Time in Dublin

Think of going to a festival in Ireland and you imagine young people, DJ’s, odd substances and mucky fields.

Well a different type of music festival is arriving in Ringsend on Saturday 21st October, and it features none of the above (although young people are of course allowed).

The Bhakti festival is a celebration of sacred music and meditation through Kirtan, which is a call and response form of chanting. The aim is to nourish the mind, body and soul, through deep relaxation and uplifting music.

There will be tea and snacks available, and all profits will go to Epilepsy Ireland and Kolkata Sanved (which supports women recovering from sex trafficking).

The event takes place from 12pm to 8pm at the Irishtown Gospel Hall in Ringsend, and tickets can be purchased here.

And here is an example of the type of music you will be listening to and chanting…
