The annual Education Expo is expected to take place on August 29th of this year, with added safety measures put in place to ensure social distance is maintained.
The free event will allow prospective students to meet course providers and college representatives from across the country in person, to discuss different course options and the opportunities that they offer.
The event is geared towards anyone wishing to further their education, whether you’re a first-time student, someone looking to up-skill or seeking a change of career. As mentioned on the Education Expo website, “Maybe you’re thinking of a career move and looking for a course that’ll introduce you to a new industry. Or you simply want to learn a new hobby, hone a new skill and keep feeding the old noggin new knowledge. Education Expo 2020 promises to be a great day for those wishing to enrol in courses or upskill, with some of Ireland’s biggest colleges and course providers set to exhibit.”
The extra safety measures that will be implemented for the physical event will involve attendees having to book a time slot prior to their arrival to prevent overcrowding. This can be done online through the Education Expo website.
Upon arrival, you will have to confirm your registration with security personnel, have your temperature taken with thermal imaging and use the provided hand sanitiser. Failure to follow this protocol, will result in no admittance.
On the Education Expo website, they have also stipulated that the inside of the venue will be well ventilated, that all public areas will be cleaned frequently and hand sanitiser will be made available throughout the entire expo space. Should an exhibitor or attendee exhibit symptoms of Covid-19, they will be taken to an isolation room as a preventative measure to avoid spreading of the virus.
There will also be a free Virtual Education Expo held on September 10th for anyone who wishes to take part remotely. The online event is run by Careers Ireland and offers many of the same one-to-one perks of the physical fair in the RDS.
People can chat online to college representatives, enrol in courses, ask questions and watch informative webinars from their own home. To register and receive online access to this virtual event, visit educationexpo.ie.
Both of these events are completely free of charge.
