Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre (RICC) have been super busy these past months providing outreach to the Community and with some services resuming in line with the current government guidelines.
RICC 13th Annual ‘Stay Day Parade’
Unable to celebrate our annual May Day Parade, RICC took the event online for the second year in a row. The day was filled with music, dance, poetry and comedy and was streamed live on Facebook reaching over 6,000 viewers. This year’s theme was ‘Together Again’ which is where we hope to be after a long lockdown. A letter of support for the event from the president of Ireland Michael D Higgins was read out on the day. Niall Quinn, former professional footballer was one of the key speakers and also expressed his support to the Community. Many thanks to Chris Andrews, and to everyone that participated and sent videos.

Lord Mayor and Grand Marshall 2021
RICC would like to congratulate Derek Buckley on becoming the new Lord Mayor and Jack Stone who became Grand Marshall. We have no doubt they will do an excellent job and look forward to seeing where the roles will take them. Sincere thanks to Deke and Malcom for their contributions over the last three years.

Quarantine Quiz
RICC have supported The Quarantine Quiz hosted by Derek Buckley, all throughout lockdown. Derek and his family have kept the community entertained during these trying times.

Outreach
RICC has been maintaining contact with our older community members all throughout lockdown. We have delivered 200 meals and goodie bags over Christmas, Easter and the May Bank Holiday weekend. It was our way to let our centre users know that we are here for them and we have received great feedback.

RICC Radio
RICC Radio has been thriving these past few months with popular football show 3 ’n’ yer in and golf show Teetime. The team have also been conducting interviews with many local sports managers which have been enjoyed by many.

RICC would like to thank the Community for their
continued support.
