On Sunday Afternoon 19th September Ballsbridge Lions Club hosted a fundraising Afternoon Tea and the last of The Summer Wine event as part of an initiative to raise funds to install five Life Saving Defibrillators in Key locations in our community.

The event which was held in the Parish Hall was attended by approximately 70 people who sat down to a vintage afternoon tea with wine.

The entertainment was provided by John Graham and the MC for the day was Lion Annie Gribbin.

We held an auction of a number of lots including pieces of art and novelty items and a song from Annie Gribbin.

We had a number of local traders who sponsored products for us, Dylan Hotel, Baggot Wines, Meaghers Chemist, and all the people who donated lots for the Auction and prizes for the raffle, we would like to thank all of these for their invaluable support that played a major part in making the afternoon a success.

We were joined on the afternoon by members of St Johns Ambulance who gave a brief talk on the value of the Defibrillators and who have agreed to provide essential training on the correct use of them for us.

A great time was had by all who attended and we are on target with our fundraising initiative.
