Switch the dial to Upbeat On Air this week to hear Ireland’s favourite cheery tunes!

The pop-up radio station is broadcasting until Friday for Mental Health Awareness Week, playing a shortlist of Ireland’s most upbeat tunes, having collected nominations from the nation since late August.

Organised by St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, the station features well-known personalities such as Alan Shortt, Alison Canavan and Karina Buckley, with appearances from other guest presenters, including Bressie and Nikki Hayes during the week.

St Patrick’s Mental Health Services is the largest independent not-for-profit mental health service provider in the country, providing the highest possible quality mental health care, advocating for the rights of people with mental health illness, and promoting mental health.

“We developed the concept of Upbeat On Air as we were looking for an innovative and creative way to get people talking about mental health,” says Sarah Surgenor, Communications Manager with St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services. “We’ll be on air for 70 hours during Mental Health Awareness Week during which we will have well known people talking about their own personal experiences. We will also be providing tips and guidance for people on how they can look after their mental health in a positive and proactive way.”

Upbeat On Air is broadcasting on 99.5FM in Dublin, and streaming online via the TuneIn app, available for Android and Apple devices. Keep an eye on the #imlistening Twitter and Facebook feeds for news about the station and song choices throughout this week.
