Siobhan Campbell will host Leonardo: The Graphic Genius, a talk on the many accomplishments of the innovative Renaissance artist.
Coinciding with an exhibition in the National Gallery of Ireland featuring ten of da Vinci’s finest drawings, this talk will seek to engage, inform and entertain the audience and appeal to people who would not normally be interested in art. Campbell will highlight da Vinci’s skills by discussing his empirical approach and his recognition of the interconnectedness of everything.
The presentation will feature works from the National Exhibition of Ireland and will discuss works of da Vinci’s featured in the National Gallery and the Louvre.
Campbell has been studying art for over 40 years and taught the subject at all levels of education in Ireland, as well as running workshops on the history of art and being involved with teacher training at NCAD.
The showcase will take place on Wednesday June 29th in the RDS’ Minerva Suite and run from 6.30pm to 8pm. Registration can be done at https://events.rds.ie/?eventID=28814 and queries can be emailed to librarydesk@rds.ie.
