Joe McDermott, Thorncastle Street, is pictured in action at the New York City Marathon.
Joe ran the 26 miles in a time of 3 hours 55 minutes – a remarkable achievement.
Inspired by the struggle of a young relative of one of his workmates, he also raised €10,000 for research into cystic fibrosis.
Joe plans to run the Milan Marathon next April.
