Dublin Night Run Hits Sandymount

Dublin Night Run

The Dublin Night run is to hold its first run through Sandymount.

The run will take place on Tuesday March 4th at 7.20pm at Clanna Gael GAA club in Ringsend. The run will cost €15 for the 5k and €20 for the 10k.

“The runs have been quite popular in the city, so we said we’d take them out of the city and more into the country and sea air,” said Eoin Ryan, the organiser for the Sandymount run. “It takes in three sections, the Sean Moore Park, then the Sandymount Strand, then onto the beach so there’s a nice bit of variety.”

Eoin has been organising sport events for the past six years – he also organised the Clontarf, Wexford and Wicklow half marathons.

“Basically people have enjoyed themselves over the years so I’ve gained a good following of people who want to come out and test themselves through various different courses.”

Participants can pick up their numbers from 6.00pm at the Gazebo at Clanna Gael, you may also pick up a number for your friend if needed. Parking at the event will also be limited, organisers suggest you use public transport (the number 1 or 47 bus) and get off on Irishtown Road, Bath Street, and walk to Clanna Gael.

You can apply on the Dublin Night Run website at dublinnightrun.runclontarf.com before Monday March the 3rd. The promoters will not be accepting participants on the night.
