Comedy for Canines

DogsTrustComedy

Get your laughing gear ready for a night of comedy for a good cause. Dogs Trust, in association with Smurfit Business School, are hosting Comedy for Canines in the Laughter Lounge on Eden Quay to raise funds for the dog welfare charity, the largest of its kind in Ireland.

Dogs Trust actively works to keep dogs in Ireland safe and healthy. Since 2005 it has provided a service to help people on means-tested benefits to get their dogs neutered, in order to prevent the straying of unwanted litters. It now operates through 350 vets nationwide, with 12,000 dogs being neutered every year. It also works to find new homes for strayed dogs and has a team that focuses on teaching children how to be responsible dog owners. Although they advise the government on matters relating to dog ownership, they receive no government funding and rely on donations and events such as Comedy for Canines to raise funds.

The line up of four comedians will be kicking off at 7pm on Thursday the 17th of April. Tickets cost €25 and can be bought by calling 087 614 6509 or emailing kerry.henry@ucdconnect.ie. Those who arrive before 7.30 will receive a free cocktail.
