The Irish Kennel Club, in association with GAIN Pet Food, is hosting the first Golden Paw Hero Dog Awards.
There are five categories in which dogs can be nominated: Exemplary Companion Dog / Life-Changing Dog, Therapy / Guide Dog, Bravery Dog, Search and Rescue Dog, and Law Enforcement Dog. Each of the winners of these categories will be inducted into the Irish Kennel Club’s Hall of Fame. An overall winner from these five will be awarded the Golden Paw Hero Dog Award 2014. Musician Sharon Shannon has been announced as one of the judges.
Irish Kennel Club’s CEO Pat Kiely understands the vital role that these pets play: “We are delighted to launch the inaugural Golden Paw Hero Dog Awards in association with GAIN Pet Food 2014. We at the Irish Kennel Club are very lucky to witness how important dogs can be in the lives of their owners, and wanted to celebrate this and reward the animals for their role in society. We are really looking forward to hearing all of the stories and wish all of these great animals the best of luck!”
To nominate a dog you must send a photo of the dog, a 500 word description of why the dog deserves an award, its call name, registered name, breed, age and sex, along with the owner’s name, address, phone number and email (if possible), to goldenpaw@ikc.ie by the 5th of May.
The winners will be announced on the 21st of May.
