Get your running shoes on for charity with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon.

On the August Bank Holiday Monday, participants will make their way from New Wapping Street at North Wall Quay, running the 13.1 mile course to Phoenix Park.

Event organisers Competitors Group Europe put the decision of which charity would benefit from this event to a public vote, with Special Olympics Ireland being announced as the winners.

Registration costs €55 and all participants must pick up their race packets and numbers before the race at the Health and Fitness Expo in the RDS on the 2nd and 3rd of August. To enter, print out and sign a confirmation sheet from here, bring it along with photo ID to the Expo and fill in your medical information on the back of your race number.

There is also a nationwide search on for bands to take part in the event. 12 bands will be chosen to play at every mile stage of the course, with a free finish line concert to wrap it up. If your band would like to apply, you can fill out an application form here.
