The Street Performance World Championships kick off this weekend under the new name of Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular.
Merrion Square will play host to the free family festival from this Friday, with acrobatics, sword swallowing, and escapology amongst the wonders on show. There will also be live music on the Go Metro Music Stage, a food village, a petting zoo and Laya Healthcare’s Family Area. Amongst other fun activities, children will have the rare opportunity of seeing their parents getting a pie to the face or being on the damp end of a supersoaker as part of the Kid’s Court with Ray D’Arcy!
This year, the festival has expanded beyond its usual Merrion Square location, as the City Spectacular will run until the 27th with ticketed events around Dublin, including the Hidden Dublin walking tour with Making Space on the 19th, and Hunt and Gather’s Midsummer Night Dinner on the 24th.
The City Spectacular will run in Merrion Square from 12pm to 8pm this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a full list of City Spectacular’s ticketed events around Dublin can be found here.
