Beechill United Football Club will be hosting the Noely McKeon Perpetual Benefit Football League in support of St Vincent’s Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit on Saturday the 19th of July.

A native of Beechill, Noely McKeon lost his battle against a long illness in October 2013. He had gone from a young player on the Beechill United team, to managing local teams such as Donnybrook United and Liffey Wanderers FC, once injury forced him to move on from taking part on the pitch.

He was known in the local community over the years for his work in Johnston Mooney & O’Briens, the Swastika Laundry and Spring Grove Services. Following his retirement due to illness, he was cared for by the ICU in St Vincent’s University Hospital.

After the match there will be a presentation held in O’Shea’s in Clonskeagh, with finger food, a raffle and plenty of children’s entertainment. If you or your company would like to donate a spot prize for the raffle or to make a donation to the ICU in St Vincent’s Hospital, you can contact Gwen on 085 114 4692, or at gwenmckeon@gmail.com.
