See the World through the Eyes of a Child all this month at Pearse Street Library!

This special exhibition displays the work of Russian-speaking children from across the country, who painted the pieces in Russian centres in Dublin, Limerick, Galway, Cork, Swords and Portlaoise. One aim of the exhibition is to bring Russian culture to the Irish public in a unique way, with paintings by children aged from two to 14 years old, who used a variety of media, including gouache, oil paints, watercolours and pencils.

The exhibition was launched in Cork’s Centre of Russian Culture on the 1st of June, International Children’s Day. It was inspired by something Picasso said when he visited an exhibition of children’s paintings: “When I was their age, I could draw like Raphael, but it took all of life to learn to draw like them.”

Entry is free, and you can view the exhibition in Pearse Street Library’s Junior Library until the end of this month.
