Tuesday
Our Dublin Horse Show competition closed, with one lucky person getting a Family Ticket to this Sunday’s event in the RDS.
We also had the announcement of a mass in St Patrick’s Church on Thursday to mark the passing of Dylan Lacey.

Wednesday
This excellent video gave us a bird’s eye view of the inside of Poolbeg Chimneys and the surrounding area, and St Patrick’s Church put out a call for people who would be interested in getting transport to their upcoming Special Mass for the Anointing of the Sick, to get in touch.

Thursday
Ringsend Merchant Seamen Exhibition
Pearse Street Library is hosting an exhibition of images of merchant seamen of the Ringsend and Irishtown area from the Great War period. These images were a part of the men’s CR10 cards, which were identification cards for merchant seamen during the Great War.

Friday
Cinema Roundup: 8th August
Lighthouse Cinema’s season of musicals continues with West Side Story, while the IFI’s Cursed season hosts John Frankenheimer’s 1966 sci-fi drama Seconds. Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief opened in IFI yesterday and will continue all the coming week. This week’s new releases are Wakolda and God’s Pocket, one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final films.
