Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre will be taking part in the festivities with the Cake Dahl, an exhibition of characters from Roald Dahl’s works brought to life as cakes. There will also be workshops on cupcake design, cake decorating, French truffles and lots of sweet treats on offer! It runs from 7pm-9pm and admission is free, but booking is advised: 01-6777510.
Pearse Street Library will be open from 6pm, with Story and Rhyme Time for young children from until 7pm, the Past Pupil and Staff Bodhrán Group from St. Augustine’s School, Blackrock playing four Sharon Shannon songs from 7pm, and poets James Conway, Catherine Ann Cullen, Mary Guckian and Pauline Hall reading a selection of their works from 7.15pm, with musical interludes provided by Victor Feldman on the clarinet, and coffee, tea and biscuits throughout the evening. There will also be an presentation of digitised images from Dublin City Libraries’ photographic collection in the conference room from 7.30pm, and Ted Moten-Letsome will be on hand from 6-9pm to discuss and give guided tours of the archaeological exhibition that has been running in the library this month.
