The Old Dublin Society’s Autumn Lecture Series continues tonight and through November.

Tonight’s lecture will be given by Rev. Dudley A Levistone Cooney, with the title of “Methodists from the Free State to the Republic”.

The series continues weekly every Wednesday until the end of November in Pearse Street Library.

The full programme is as follows:

5th November: “Swift and Dublin: controversial Dean, patriot Drapier and inventor of micro-credit” by Brendan Twomey.

12th November: “The Dublin Fusiliers: who they were and where did they come from?” by Tom Burke.

19th November: “Robert Tressell, Dubliner: author of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists” by Bryan MacMahon.

26th November: “The Rothsay Castle shipwreck, 1831: the Rathmines connection” by Séamus Ó Maitiú.

All lectures are free and take place in Pearse Street Library’s Conference Room from 6.30pm to 8pm.
