Dublin Dock Workers Preservation Society has released a 2015 calendar entitled “Every Picture Tells a Story”.

The calendar features 13 previously unseen images depicting the life and times of Dublin’s dock workers.

You can pick up a copy for €5 from the chq Building for the next two Saturdays (13th and 20th) between 2 and 6pm, where the Society is holding an exhibition of their photographs. To order a few copies of the calendar, call Alan Martin on 087 209 5974, or if you are interested in selling or distributing copies, call Declan Byrne on 086 813 8618.

The Society has 1,000 copies available, and funds raised from the sales will go towards running their activities next year, which includes a campaign to create a Dublin Docklands Heritage Centre. The bid was launched on the 20th of November in Mansion House’s Oak Room with thanks to Lord Mayor Christy Burke, who was amongst the speakers on the night. You can watch a video of the launch here.
