Get down to Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane at 1.30pm this Saturday to celebrate the launch of the 6th Dublin Festival of Russian Culture.

Councillor Mannix Flynn will represent Dublin’s Lord Mayor at the event, which will include a performance dedicated to classical Russian music by Irish artists Deirdre and Fionnuala Moynihan.

“The Festival of Russian Culture offers Dubliners a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the delights, wonders and mysteries of the great Russian culture. From classical music to art to family events there is plenty for everyone to enjoy” said Councillor Flynn.

The celebration of Russian culture runs until February 22, with music, dance, art, and history covered amongst the various talks, concerts, workshops, competitions and exhibitions. With so many events happening across Dublin, the festivities reach the Dublin Four area on February 21 when Pearse Street Library holds a talk on the life and works of Alexander Pushkin from 3-4pm.

The festival culminates in a fun-filled Family Day in the Red Cow Hotel on the Naas Road from 12 to 4pm on the 22nd, with traditional Russian songs, dancing and interactive games.
