ARC Cancer Support is still seeking participants for their 5k and 10k run, taking place this bank holiday Monday (May 4) in Phoenix Park.

Now in its 21st year, ARC provides support to people affected by cancer, including those who have been diagnosed as well as their families, friends and carers, and all of the services are free of charge. The 5k and 10k race is one of the voluntary organisation’s main annual fundraisers, and last year saw over 500 people running for charity.

Sponsored by Kingspan, the run welcomes people of all capabilities to take on the challenge at their level, with the slogan Your Pace or Mine? ARC’s Head of Fundraising, Mairead Mangan said, “The ARC 5k and 10k run is a family event that appeals to all levels of fitness. This is an ideal time of year to get out your runners, dust them down and come out for a morning of fresh air and fun. Our 21 years offering a holistic approach to the treatment of cancer complements traditional medicine by assisting with people’s emotional and psychological well-being.”

Runners will be under starter’s orders on Monday morning at 10am sharp. You can register to take part online, and there will also be late registration available from 8-9am on the morning of the run. A late registration fee of €25 (cash only) will apply.
