Sandymount Tidy Towns has lots in store for the community over the coming months!

This Saturday (May 2) will see the Sandymount Tree Walk, a leisurely and informative one or two hour wander around Sandymount. Beginning on the Green at 2pm, the tour will finally wind up in a local hostelry!

June sees the area celebrate some of Ireland’s literary greats. As 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of William Butler Yeats, Sandymount Green will play host to poetry readings and music on Yeats Day, June 13.

Then bombastic Blooms events will see June 16 packed with fun for all the family. The day will kick off with breakfast in the Iris Charles Centre at 9am, followed by a Joycean Walk through Sandymount, which will culminate in poetry reading, storytelling and song in Sandymount Green.

Tickets for breakfast in the Iris Charles Centre are €10 and can be booked through Phyllis on 087 662 5471.

Sandymount Tidy Towns would also like to remind the public that there is a Sandymount Green Tidy Up event held every Saturday from 11am to 1pm and that they welcome all volunteers.
