Stella Maris Rowing Club will be holding its annual regatta this Sunday!
The draw will happen at the Stella Maris slip at 10am, before teams take to the water from 11am to compete in 15 exciting races. Over 90 crews are expected to take part, all from clubs based along the east coast from Arklow to Skerries, including fellow Ringsenders St Patrick’s!
The race order is as follows:

- Under 14
- Under 18 Boys
- Junior Ladies
- Under 18 Girls
- Under 12
- Under 16 Boys
- Under 16 Girls
- Novice Men
- Inter Men
- Junior Men
- Novice Ladies
- Inter Ladies
- Mixed
- Senior Men
Special mention must be given to the Under 16 Girls race, which is this year dedicated to Carol “Gertie” Flood. A lifelong member of Stella Maris, who won several ladies’ races and went on to give the younger generation the benefit of her experience, Carol passed away late last year. To honour her name, the club will be presenting a plate made in Carol’s name to her mother Maureen, and a brand new trophy carrying Carol’s name will be awarded to the winning crew of the Under 16 Girls race.
