Celebrate Ireland’s fourth Recovery Walk this weekend!

Recovery Walks started in the USA, with the aim of celebrating recovery from addiction, while reducing stigma surrounding it and increasing awareness of the courage, commitment, support, motivation and hard work that is needed in the recovery process.

This free event is not just for those in recovery, but also bringing together their friends and families, supporting and celebrating recovery, and promoting the positive impact of recovery for the individual, family members and community.

With September named as Recovery Month, Recovery Walk Ireland is hoping to spread the message that prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery from addiction is a lived reality for thousands of people.

So why not join in the celebrations in the Wood Quay Amphitheatre this Saturday (September 12) from 12.30pm to 3.30pm? Following a symbolic 1km walk, there will be speeches, including one from this year’s guest speaker, lead singer of Aslan Christy Dignam, before an afternoon of music and children’s entertainment.
