Join the creatures of the night as they come out to play and celebrate the life and works of Irish master of the macabre, Bram Stoker!

Split into day and night from October 23 to 26, the Bram Stoker Festival will feature four days of living stories and four nights of deadly adventures, with ghosts and ghouls aplenty and lots of spooky shenanigans to choose from.

Marsh’s Library will be luring families along a Scary Trail from 11am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, with prizes for the scariest children’s costumes! Then Saturday night sees Hushed visitors led by candlelight through the fascinating building from 7pm.

Watch Dublin street artist Maser create a live installation in Smithfield square on Friday from 6pm, which will be open to view from 11am to 7pm on the following three days.

Lighthouse Cinema will be showing a number of vampire-themed films to celebrate Stoker’s most famous creation, including Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a Blade I and II double bill.

Wolfe Tone Square will be transformed in Stokerland from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday! All are encouraged to come in fancy dress to this family-friendly pop-up playground featuring the talents of street performers Able Mabel and The Mighty Gareth, and plenty of activities from spooky makeovers to screen-printing to interest even the most gothic of minds!

At 3pm on Sunday, the National Gallery of Ireland will explore the question Who Was Bram Stoker?, an hour of events ranging from talks for adults to creepy family workshops!

Keep an eye out across the city for vampires on bikes as they hand out Penny Dreadzines, modern twists on the classic Victorian magazine format, throughout the festival!

Lord Mayor of Dublin Críona Ní Dhálaigh said: “We are delighted to be celebrating the great Dublin author Bram Stoker and his famous novel Dracula. Dublin City Council is very proud to continue celebrating his life and literary creation with the fourth Bram Stoker Festival. This Festival is a celebration of the famous gothic novel and showcases the amazing cultural talent within Dublin today. Cuirim fáilte roimh gach duine go Báile Átha Cliath chun taitneamh a bhaint ás an féile iontach seo.”
