This November, on the 40th anniversary of production, Marian College Musical Society, in association with Muckross Dominican School, are proud to present: ‘The Addams Family – A New Musical’. Dates are November 18th/19th/20th.
This promises to be a fun and spooky journey of dazzling entertainment! Set in a Gothic-style New York Mansion, the suave Gomez Addams (James Christian), a loving father who is about to face his worst fear: his daughter is finally growing up! Wednesday Addams (Aoife Mousely), the princess of darkness, has fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable, ‘normal’ family, the Beinekes (Gavin Boyne, Jason Andres, and Aoife Young). Gomez is joined by his wife, the sultry Morticia (Lauren O’Corrbui).
Everything changes when they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents. Will true love win out? Will Wednesday get her happy ever after? Or will Lucas Beineke realise that the bizarre antics of the Addams family are too much to bear?
Wednesday and her brother, the effervescent Pugsley (Ben Breslin), provide much of the dark comic humour. Pugsley enlists the help of his zany Grandma (Rioghnach Gavin) in order to get rid of the Beineke family! Will Uncle Fester (Adam Kane) finally find his true love? And will the Frankenstein-esque butler, Lurch (Conor Boland) finally speak?
