Clean up the Area with the Docklands Volunteer Day

Future of the Docklands 2

April 22 is the sixth annual Docklands Volunteer Day (NewsFour)

On April 22 the sixth annual Docklands Volunteer Day will take place. Since it began, this event has united local businesses to do a good deed for the community and allowed them to become more involved in the area.

To date the event has involved completing a variety of cleaning tasks on both sides of the River Liffey. These have included painting the McMahon Bridge and the boundary wall at Boland’s Mill, collecting litter in Linear Park, cleaning flotsam out of the Grand Canal Basin and the Royal Canal and picking the weeds from the Campshire along North Wall Quay.

Last year’s Volunteer Day had over 100 volunteers from businesses all over the Docklands taking part, making the fifth annual Volunteer Day the most successful to date. The various businesses involved included A&L Goodbody, Accenture, The CCD and the Maldron Hotel.

Any individual or company interested in volunteering in this year’s event can contact the CEO of the Docklands Business Forum, Alan Robinson and show their support on the day in the traditional bright red t-shirt.
