“1916 – Total War” kicks off at the Beggars Bush Pub at 1.30pm tomorrow (NewsFour)

With the centenary celebrations ongoing, the public is presented with a great opportunity to learn all about the 1916 Rising.

But a particularly informative learning experience can come from a noted historian hosting a guided tour of significant locations, and now such a chance exists for residents of Dublin 4. Pat Liddy will be leading them through “1916 – Total War”, a walking tour of military action sites from the Rising including Boland’s Mill and Mount Street Bridge. Liddy has written over seven books on Dublin and has been instrumental in making the city a global tourist attraction over the last three decades.

The tour will begin tomorrow, Thursday April 21st, at 1.30pm, meeting at Beggars Bush Pub on Haddington Road. Places are limited and booking is essential to attend this, but admission is free. Secure your place at the following link:
