In late May, we posted an article about two photographs found at the post office in Barrow Street on Pension Day. We were hoping to alert the owner of the images to their whereabouts, and can happily confirm that they have collected them.
Peter Byrne of Ormeau Street, Ringsend, came to the post office and identified himself as the owner of the photos. They were returned to him and the staff of the post office were delighted to have reunited them with their owner.
The search for the owner of the photos generated quite a lot of interest in the community, with NewsFour’s article being shared 77 times and reaching 2,563 people. It also brought a lot of visitors to the post office, with local residents fascinated by the old photographs.
