Residents of Ringsend, Irishtown, Sandymount and Pearse Street are invited to take part in ALIGHT!, a new dance, art and performance project.

Beginning this Friday October 21st and running until February 2017, ALIGHT! is being coordinated by Dublin City Council and will be lead by a professional team of artists and choreographers from CoisCéim BROADREACH.

Participants will be given the chance to explore their local community by engaging in activities such as art design, dance, storytelling, music and theatre workshops, dance choreography and decorating a bus! They will even get to perform along Dublin Bus route no. 1.

A series of taster creative workshops will run in the area to allow potential participants to learn more about the project by chatting with the artists and sampling some of the creative workshops involved. No experience is necessary to attend these workshops and they are free of charge and open to people of all ages.

The taster workshops will take place on Friday October 21st from 12.30pm – 2pm and Tuesday November 1st from 4pm to 7pm in the Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre, 4 Thorncastle Street. Anyone with questions contact the project manager Cleo Fagan by calling (087) 4134419 or emailing cleofagan@gmail.com.
