Jedward were at The Butler’s Pantry in Sandymount on Wednesday November 26th to launch a campaign to support older people this Christmas.

The ecstatic duo helped launch Ireland’s first contactless donation boxes for the charity ALONE, which supports the elderly at home. The donation boxes can be found at all The Butler’s Pantry between the end of November and January 2017.

ALONE CEO Sean Maynihan spoke about the campaign and its goal:

“As we approach the festive season, it is important to remember that Christmas can be a particularly isolating time for older people who are living alone. We are calling on the general public to contribute to the issue not only by donating money but also by thinking of older people in your locality and visiting them over the Christmas period.”

Anyone with concerns for their health or the health of a vulnerable older person in their community can call ALONE at (01) 679 103. Donations can be made at the ALONE website.
