Scarecrow & Pumpkin Festival comes to Sandymount

Sandymount Tidy Towns will host the Scarecrow and Pumpkin Festival as part of the Halloween celebrations in the community.


Residents of Sandymount are invited to decorate their business or home in a scarecrow / Halloween theme or carve a pumpkin. Both of these will come with a chance to win prizes.

All business and residential entries must register by Thursday October 21st, which can be done by emailing your details to sandymounttt@gmail.com or texting them to 089 4027127.

The Pumpkin Awards Festival Night will take place from 5pm – 7pm on Friday October 21st, where the winners of the pumpkin carving competition will be announced.

Saturday 22nd will see the celebration of the Christchurch Autumn Craft Fair in aid of Christian Aid, which will feature a guided tour of Christ Church at 3pm. There will also be a Fancy Dress on the Green at 3pm followed by the Scarecrow / Halloween Business and Residential Awards ceremony in Christchurch Hall at 5pm.

The celebrations will continue on Sunday 23rd with the Harvest Big Sing in Christ Church at 7pm followed by the Harvest Supper.

Entry fees are ‎€10 for the Scarecrow / Halloween Business and Residential Awards ceremony and €5 for the Scarecrow and Pumpkin Festival.
