The UCD Drama Society will play host to several performances of two plays put together by the students between today and Friday October 28th.

The Ride is a play written and directed by Tzarini Meyler. It is centred around Maggie, a workaholic with little time for love whose best friend Karen is what all boys dream of. Sick of being teased because of her lack of a man, she decides to take things into her own hands and soon has five lovers as things continuously spiral out of control.

Sarah Gordon fills the role of Maggie, while the rest of the cast is made up of Isabelle Geraghty, Katie Morris, Nic Cargin, Dave Muller, Laura Fleming, Naoise Dunbar, Rob Kearney and Daniel Forde. UAFAS will be performed from 1pm today until 1pm on Thursday October 28th.

UAFAS is an an Irish horror comedy that focuses on five students who attend an all Irish speaking course over the summer before their Leaving Cert. Expecting it to be boring, they are proven wrong by the arrival of a bloodthirsty killer.

The cast of the play consists of Paddy Allen, Laura Fleming, Eoin O’ Sullivan, Johnny Farrell, Izzy Hanly and Adam Donnelly. It is directed by Sean Moriarty with assistance by Adam Donnelly and Pauline Keane. The Ride will be performed from 7pm this evening until 4pm on Thursday.

Both plays are being performed in the UCD Student Centre and more information can be gained by calling (01) 716 3850 or emailing @dramsoc.ucd.
