Sandymount hotel’s Beatrice O’Donoghue wins Employee of the year award

Sandymount Hotel’s Front of house manager Beatrice O’ Donoghue has won the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) ‘Dublin Employee Of The Year’ award. It’s Beatrice’s first time winning the award and she was nominated for the award by the management at the hotel, father and son, John and Gerard Loughran.

Beatrice has been working at the hotel for 37 years and worked for owner John’s parents George and Rosaleen Loughran then, starting out in a joint receptionist role. “Since day one at the hotel, I truly felt part of the wider family, learning tricks of the trade from John’s mother Mrs. Loughran and meeting all kinds of local, international and well-known guests over the year. It’s my home from home, it hasn’t felt like 37 years and I hope that I’ll be behind the desk and welcoming guests for many years to come” said Beatrice upon received the award.

Peter Collins, Chair of the Dublin branch of the Irish Hotels Federation said “We are delighted to present this year’s award to Beatrice O Donoghue from Sandymount Hotel in recognition of her outstanding commitment and work ethic, sense of team spirit and willingness to go that extra mile to assist guests.

Beatrice now goes forward to represent Dublin at the Irish Hotel’s federation National Awards where the national winner will be awarded the overall title at a special ceremony next March 2019.
