Continuous Patterns – IMMA Summer Party returns on July 14/15

by Brian Bowe

Continuous Patterns, IMMA’s much loved Summer Party returns on 14 and 15 July 2023 for a two-day summer celebration of music, art and good vibes in the grounds of IMMA. Experience exciting live music, DJs, art, scrumptious food, fancy drinks, and some very special surprises over two days of fun and atmosphere in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

After a spectacular sell out edition in 2022, IMMA are looking at continuing to develop Continuous Patterns as a widescreen, open ended interpretation of the artistic output of Dublin city – a snapshot of what is both current and continuous in the cannon of expression that nourishes the beloved Irish museum.

Continuous Patterns offers a selection of artists who are at the very cutting edge of contemporary Irish culture, across a range of styles and moods. The programme has been carefully curated to match the energy of two unique mid-summer evenings and presented across two stages of live music, DJs and more in the glorious surrounds of the RHK.

If the event is anything like last year’s, visitors can expect to see work that is vital, thoughtful, as well as the thoroughly weird and wonderful: art that seeks to ignite the imaginations of even the most cultured of culture vultures. Continuous Patterns offers two flavours each evening, with Friday, 14 July focusing on a programme of upbeat, contemporary and future focused music, while Saturday 15 July presents a slightly more chilled out atmosphere, ideal for friends and family looking to unwind on a balmy summer night.

Each evening will be accompanied by a bespoke programme of music, talks, immersive artwork and more still to be announced, as well as a collection of food vendors to nourish the soul, and refreshing drinks (the craft cocktails are a must!) served to keep you cool in the – fingers crossed – warm sun.
