Google Education Task Force

Congratulations to the teachers who have received their digital training certifificates through Google Ireland and Kinia! This training is focused on supporting teachers in bridging the digital divide, and we are so proud of the work the teachers have done to become certifified.

Minister for Education, Norma Foley joined Deputy Jim O’Callaghan in a visit to St Patrick’s Girls and Boys School with the Google Community Education Task Force in discussing online safety programmes with schools and presenting Google-supported digital training certifificates to teachers. Google was also joined by their partners Barnardos, Webwise, National College of Ireland, and Kiniadigital training project. We heard very powerful public endorsements from teachers and parents in attendance.

Google Ireland celebrated its 20th year here in Ireland with local community representatives from Pearse Street and Ringsend.

The event, which was held at Google’s European headquarters in Dublin, brought together representatives from a range of local community groups, including the Pearse Street Community and the Ringsend & Irishtown Community.

Google Ireland’s representatives said: “We are proud to have been a part of the Pearse Street and Ringsend community for the past 20 years. We have worked closely with local community groups to support a range of projects, including the development of new training opportunities through our partnerships with the local community Employment Task Force, groups, and the provision of digital skills training through the Education Task Force.”
