OFFline Film Fest now accepting film submissions

Are you a film student, graduate or just enthusiastic about creating cinema magic? If so, OFFline Film Festival are now calling for submissions of films made by first time directors, writers and producers. There are several categories to submit under: Best Irish Short, which will see the winning film be distributed to eighty film clubs around Ireland, Best International Short, Best Irish Animation, Best International Animation and the Offline Audience Award.

This is an exciting event for lovers of film, and total beginners interested in learning of the practices involved in film making, as the festival itself will host workshops given by industry professionals on all aspects of cinema and the creation of film.

The final deadline for submissions is on August 24th of this year and successful applicants will be notified on September 9th.

The festival will take place this October, in the Birr Theatre and Arts Centre in Co. Offally.

Below are the terms and conditions for entrants:

CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY
Feature films must be the first feature of either a writer, director or producer.

Submissions only via FilmFreeway.
All films mist have been completed since October 1st 2019. To be eligible for the short film competitions films must be 25 minutes or less in duration including end credits. Films should be password protected. Films should be presented in their original versions with English language subtitles or commentary where necessary.

DEADLINES & FEES
Please note, only one submission will be accepted per short film. If a second submission is made it will be disregarded and OFFline Film Festival will not be held responsible for losses incurred.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frame Rate : 24 & 25 FPS
Bit Rate: 5,000 – 20,000kbps
Resolution of 1920X1080 px.

USING EXTRACTS OF THE FILM FOR PROMOTION
The entrant agrees that up to 30 seconds of their film may be used by OFFline Film Festival in promotional activities including screening a clip on television and on the Festival’s website. Acceptance of these regulations implies that you will abide by them in your dealings with the Festival and also that you are legally entitled to submit this film for consideration.

SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
All selected filmmakers are invited to OFFline as guests of the Festival (We provide complimentary accommodation and transfers from Dublin airport). All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. Official Festival selection will be announced by the end of September 2022. Only successful entrants will be notified by email. Details of selected films will also be posted on our website. The Festival does not pay fees for submitted work. Finalists will have their films screened during the Festival and on the last day an overall winner in each category will be announced.
