Celebrations as Mount Tabor marks 25th Anniversary

By Louise Whelan

Mount Tabor Nursing Home and Care Centre in Sandymount Green had an afternoon of fun and entertainment as residents, staff, volunteers and family members all enjoyed a fantastic party atmosphere celebrating 25 years of service on August 8th last. The event, which included a delicious BBQ, ice cream, a bouncy castle, balloon making and face painting for the kids (and adults!) with entertainer Maggie Biggs, also had a lively sing-song in the garden and an indoor choir.

A beautiful apple tree was planted in relation to the special occasion by the new Director of Care Colin Morgan, who said a few words of thanks to everyone and was assisted by resident Dorie and staff member Bernie who both did a wonderful job at potting, creating a focal point for the community to enjoy.

Everyone was in a relaxing mood listening to guitarist Paul Lee who was very interactive in his approach of encouraging singing, making everybody feel at ease. Songs such as It’s a long way to Tipperary and Steal Away had some residents showing off their melodious voices, while indoors the Margarethome choir set the merry tone with their happy, musical numbers.
