A Triumph in Maritime Training by the Irish Nautical Trust

The Irish Nautical trust has recently concluded our 5th Comprehensive Maritime Training Course which has proven to be a resounding success, setting a new standard for comprehensive and effective training for graduates who hopefully will enter the maritime industry.

The Comprehensive Maritime Training Course has demonstrated notable success among graduates, equipping them with essential skills for navigating challenges at sea. Graduates consistently showcase proficiency in maritime operations, safety protocols, and effective communication. 

Some of the Main Topics we Cover on the Course:

  • Powerboat level 2 (min 50 hours)
  • First Aid (STCW)
  • Personal Survival Techniques 
  • Navigation
  • VHF Radio
  • Safety on a boat  
  • Engine Maintenance
  • Rope Splicing
  • Collision Regulations
  • Buoyage 

The course is conducted in Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club, and we are extremely grateful for the use of their wonderful premises. 

The Comprehensive Maritime Training Course is a 12/14-week full-time course, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm The next course we will be starting is January the 15th 2024. Applications are open to anyone over 18 years of age for a place on the course. Priority is given to people living in and around the Docklands, and unemployed. As places are limited to nine per course, applications should be sent in as soon as possible, to training@irishnauticaltrust.ie or call 086-0138921

Our current class is due to finish on the 25th of November 2023 and the graduation ceremony for that class will be the 5th of December at 4pm in Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club. Where the graduates will be presented with their certificates of achievement.
