Take in the history, sights and sounds of Grand Canal Dock with Waterways Ireland’s Walking Tour of Grand Canal Dock.
The tour begins in the Visitor Centre and takes you on a journey around Grand Canal Dock and its history, dating back from the 18th Century to today. Along the way you will also learn about the story of the Grand and Royal Canals and how they shaped the city we live in, the life of a Dublin Dockworker, and the rich architectural heritage of the Grand Canal Dock area.
Running until September, the tour begins twice a day from Wednesday to Sunday at 11.30am and 2.30pm. Adult tickets cost €8, €6 for senior citizens, and €4 for children aged five to twelve years, with under fives going free. It costs €15 for a Family Ticket, which covers two adults and children. The Visitor Centre has a range of discounts available for groups of ten or more if you contact them in advance.
