Dublin2020 has announced a free live performance this weekend, as Dublin’s bid to host the 2020 European Capital of Culture comes to a close!

Meeting House Square in Temple Bar will play host to the fantastic line-up of Finglas native Anderson, rock ‘n’ roll troubadours The Hot Sprockets and pop/rock duo Darling from 8.30pm on Saturday, marking the end of the campaign to bring the European Capital of Culture to Dublin in 2020, as the Bid Book outlining why Dublin is an ideal candidate is handed over.

Between acts, the audience will be kept entertained by comedian Eric Lalor, who won entertainment.ie’s Irish Standup of the Year for 2011 and 2012, and has more recently appeared as Cathal Spillane in Fair City.

Earlier in the year, the Dublin2020 campaign came to Dublin 4 to have tea and chats with the Dodder Sea Scouts. The scout group told campaign organisers about the skills they acquired through scouting which they can pass on to further generations, and spoke of how they wished for more interaction between neighbouring communities.
