Sunday saw several boats take to the Liffey following the annual Blessing of the Boats ceremony at Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club.
Ringsend Lord Mayor Deke Rivers was on hand with other dignitaries and religious representatives who were liberally spraying holy water on the lucky vessels that presumably will now be protected by the sea gods for the next twelve months.
Newsfour went out on the calm waters with friendly hosts Tom Quirk and Gerry Keane of the Galway Hooker, Naomh Cronan.
Special thanks to them and the guy in the cabin who lifted the Tom Clarke Bridge (electronically not manually) so we could get through. Safe sailing on the Liffey and Dublin waterways for all in the coming year.
