British owned establishment, JD Wetherspoons, will be opening another pub in central Dublin next week. The South Strand will be located in Hanover Quay, Grand Central Square, along the Docklands area.

The new €4 million venture, will be right on the doorstep of companies such as Google and Facebook, and will be laid out over two floors, including outside seating.

Wetherspoons have said that the new premises, located where the old HQ bar used to be, will create 100 jobs and they have said that this new location will focus on food sales, as opposed to primarily on alcohol sales.

Wetherspoons has proved very popular amongst Dubliners, with it’s Keavan’s Port, Camden Street regularly seeing lines queueing down the street for entrance to the establishment.

On their website they have stated that they’re currently looking for more sites across the Republic of Ireland. Wetherspoons have also recently paid €9 million, for a site in Temple Bar.
